If you are interested in joining the Krewe, we would love to have you. Membership requires both the new Membership application and the Waiver. Once filled out, you will submit your documents to our Membership Committee, we will review reach out with the next steps. Thank you for your interest!

Why is the Krewe named “Libertalia” and what are your Krewe Colors?

Our name is inspired by the legendary pirate utopia “Libertalia,” which symbolizes freedom, equality, and unity—values we strive to embody in everything we do. Our colors are Red, Black and Gold!

What makes the Grand Krewe de Libertalia different from other Krewes?

We were founded in 1992 to promote inclusivity and diversity during a time when Gasparilla lacked representation of Tampa Bay’s vibrant communities. Our mission centers around unity, community service, and celebrating the rich culture of Tampa.

Do you accept donations or sponsorships?

Yes, we are currently raising funds for a new parade float and to support our community initiatives. Contributions of any size are greatly appreciated, and donors will be recognized on our website. Visit our [Support Us Page] for more information.

How does the Grand Krewe de Libertalia give back to the community?

We partner with organizations like the Hillsborough Education Foundation to provide scholarships for local students who have faced challenges. We also participate in various community service projects throughout the year.

What events do you host outside of the Gasparilla Parade?

In addition to Gasparilla, we also participate in MLK, Christmas and St Patrick’s Day parade. Additionally, we host social events, fundraisers, and community service activities throughout the year. Check our [Events Page] for upcoming dates!

How are funds raised by the Krewe used?

Funds are used to support our float, community service projects, annual parade season costs and scholarships. We are fully committed to transparency in how we allocate resources.
